Tunisian Health Minister Fawzi al-Mahdi said in a press conference on Monday that Tunisia is currently going through the peak of the fourth wave of its coronavirus outbreak.

The minister touched on the oxygen crisis that hospitalsare experiencing, noting that consumption rose from 25,000 liters to 230,000 at present.

Tunisia had issued distress calls after facing a severe shortage of oxygen, which prompted many brotherly and friendly countries to send quantities of oxygen and equipment.

Al-Mahdi announced that he will allocate the two days of Eid al-Adha for vaccination, and from Wednesday for those over the age of 18 to get the vaccine.

He said that direct purchases of vaccines against Corona enabled 2.4 million doses to be vaccinated.
