Saturday, a fire broke out on a ship docked in the Beirut port, where a massive explosion occurred last year, according to the Lebanese media.

The cause of the fire remains unclear.

Teams from the Lebanese Civil Defense rushed to the scene to extinguish the fire.

Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the fire.

Aug. 4, 2020, more than 200 people were killed and 7,500 others were injured after a deadly explosion occurred at the same site.

Following the incident, large parts of Lebanon’s capital city were also destroyed.

Thursday, Lebanon's Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri stepped down, following talks with Lebanese President Aoun at Baabda Palace Thursday afternoon.
