Saturday, the Minister of Interior, Mazen Al-Faraya instructed governors and administrative governors to release 389 administrative detainees, asking them to deem the time they spent in reform and rehabilitation facilities as acceptable, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

The decision comes after detainee files were assessed to ensure that their release does not pose a threat to their lives, security, public order or societal peace.

Faraya emphasized that the release of these individuals would give them the much-needed opportunity to re-integrate into society.
