During an inspection visit Tuesday to the Amman field hospital to determine its readiness in handling an increase in COVID-19 cases, given the increase experienced in Jordan, Minister of Health Feras Al-Hawari said that that the rise in the number of infections requires all of us to adhere to safety rules.

Al-Hawari added that taking the vaccine is our way to avoid a new outbreak of the virus.

Al-Hawari stressed that we want to return to face-to-face education on the first of September, and we will not reach this goal without the cooperation and vaccinations.

Al-Hawari called on citizens, residents of Jordan, and visitors to pay attention and take extreme caution to avoid the risk of infection with the coronavirus and its variants.

He warned that the rise in the PCR positivity rate raises real concern about the possibility of a re-emergence of the pandemic, stressing the necessity of full compliance with defense orders and preventative measures to avoid a new outbreak.

Al-Hawari called for commitment from everyone and to not to be complacent about the application of safety and preventative measure.

The rate of infections began to rise in recent days, reaching 3.72 percent Monday, while it was at approximately 1.8 percent two weeks ago.
