Monday, a member of the National Committee for Epidemics Bassam Hijjawi told Roya’s Nabd Albalad that 50-60 percent of COVID-19 infections in Jordan are with the Delta strain.

Hijjawi said it is necessary to continue adhering to the required health and safety measures, especially during Eid al-Adha period.

Hijjawi pointed out that the increase in the number of coronavirus infections in the past two days is ‘worrying.’

He added that 60 percent of those admitted to hospitals have not been fully vaccinated.

He lastly noted that Jordan might witness a third wave of the coronavirus.
