The Deputy Medical Director at Istishari Arab Hospital in Palestine, Dr. Khalil Karim, confirmed that Ghazanfar Abu Atwan, who was released from Israeli Occupation prison earlier this week following a 65-day hunger strike, is in good health, and is continuously improving. He is expected to leave the hospital within days.

Karim said that a specialized team was formed, including specialists in the digestive system, internal medicine, anesthesia and nutrition, to follow up on his health, in order to avoid any problems with his resumption of eating.

Ghazanfar, 28, from the town of Dura, south of Hebron, arrived at the Istishari Hospital in the Rehan suburb of Ramallah Thursday after being released from administrative detention.
