The Hamas movement said Saturday that "the escalation of the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip due to the blockade, and its repercussions on economic, social and psychological life, is re-creating the dynamics that push strongly towards escalation again."

In a statement, Hamas called on everyone to assume their responsibilities and to exert the necessary pressure on the Israeli Occupation to end the siege of Gaza immediately and without conditions.

Hamas stressed that "the alternatives are dangerous and costly. No calm or stability will be achieved as long as the Palestinian people lack a free and dignified life.
