Wednesday, the people of southern Shouneh mourned the death of four children who drowned in the Karameh Dam.

The siblings, including three brothers and a sister, were laid to rest.

Tuesday, a relative of the children said that at around 12pm, the four children went missing.

After searching for the children, three out of the four siblings were found and taken to the hospital, where they later died.

Out of pure shock from the incident, it was only after the three boys were transferred to the hospital, did the parents realized that the older sister was still missing, said the relative.

Divers searched for her within the dam and found her body in the water soon after.

He stressed that the Karameh Dam does not have any kind of protection or fencing around it, noting there is no "benefit from [the dam] except to take lives."
