Tuesday, the family of a 42-year-old Jordanian man, who died of a stroke, donated the organs of their son, to save the lives of a number of patients with organ failure, as 'ongoing charity.'

A team from the Jordanian Center for Organ Transplantation, in cooperation with medical officials from the private sector hospitals, the Ministry of Health and the Royal Medical Services, succeeded in removing the organs of the deceased and transplanting them into eligible patients registered on the national waiting list.

The director of the Jordanian Center for Organ Transplantation, Anwar Al-Nuwairi, said that the team succeeded in transplanting a kidney to a 17-year-old patient.

The surgery was conducted in Prince Hamzah Hospital Tuesday, while the second kidney was transplanted for a 64-year-old patient in a private hospital.

Nuwairi indicated that the liver of the deceased was transplanted to a 51-year-old patient, with one cornea transplanted to an anonymous patient and the second to a relative of the deceased.
