Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi met, on Monday, with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mukhtar Tlioberdi, on the sidelines of the fourth ministerial meeting of the Stockholm Initiative for Nuclear Disarmament and the Non-Proliferation Treaty, to discuss mechanisms for strengthening relations between the two countries in various fields bilaterally and coordination within the framework of The Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in implementation of the directives of the leaderships of the two brotherly countries.

The two ministers agreed to direct the concerned technical teams to prepare for holding the meetings of the fifth session of the Jordanian-Kazakh joint committee as soon as possible, to discuss cooperation frameworks in the economic, trade, investment and development fields.

Safadi and his Kazakh counterpart discussed developments in the region, foremost of which are those related to the Palestinian issue and the need to reach a comprehensive, just and lasting peace on the basis of the two-state solution in accordance with international law and approved international references.

The two ministers reviewed the efforts exerted to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis, especially in light of the holding of the Astana track meetings on Syria on July 7 and 8 in Nur Sultan, in which Jordan will participate as an observer.

Al-Safadi and Teleoperdi stressed the strengthening of joint action and the continuation of continuous coordination and consultation between the two brotherly countries.
