During the past few days, the Northern Military Region, in coordination with the Military Security Directorate and the Anti-Narcotics Department, thwarted several attempts by a group of people to infiltrate and smuggle large quantities of narcotics and weapons from Syrian territory to Jordanian territory.

An official military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army (JAF) said that the rules of engagement were applied, which led to the individuals retreating into Syria.

The source added that 497 hashish slabs, 61,000 Captagon pills, four kilograms of crystal methamphetamines, and a number of weapons were seized.

The source said that the JAF will deal firmly with any infiltration or smuggling attempt in order to protect the citizen and the security of the Kingdom's borders.
