Supervision teams from the Balqa Health Affairs Directorate carried out 2,293 field visits to various shops and establishments across the governorate during the first half of 2021.

Saturday, the Balqa Health Affairs Director Saeb al-Hiyasat told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that 111 stores were fined and 631 official warnings were issued for non-compliance with health and safety measures.

Hiyasat added that 32 shops were shut down due to violations that put citizens' lives at risk. Additionally, inspection teams discarded 5,492 kilograms of food that was unsafe for human consumption.
