Abbas declares state of emergency in Palestine following surge in COVID-19 cases

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas issued a presidential decree declaring a state of emergency in the Palestinian territories for a period of 30 days starting Saturday, July 3.

This came in order to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

Earlier Saturday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that Palestine confirmed 83 new coronavirus cases.
