Friday, a cargo aircraft (Boeing Co 737) with two people on board made an emergency landing in the ocean off the coast of Honolulu in Hawaii, according to a statement by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The FAA said “The pilots had reported engine trouble and were attempting to return to Honolulu when they were forced to land the aircraft in the water.”

Notably, shares of Boeing dropped two percent and the plane was operated by Rhodes Express.

The statement added that “According to preliminary information, the US Coast Guard rescued both crew members.”

Boeing was not immediately available for comment.

Boeing’s 737 MAX was allowed to fly back in late 2020, following a 20-month grounding after two accidents resulted in hundreds of deaths.
