In Stevns, in the countryside south of Copenhagen, Denmark, Jacob Shaw, a cellist and the head of a music school, comes to play with other musicians to a herd of cattle.

Unable to perform during the pandemic, he decided to turn to this unusual audience. The experience was so enjoyable that he continues it even after the reopening of the theaters.

"During corona time, of course, that (playing concerts) wasn't always possible, and we moved to the next best thing, which was playing for animals, which started as a little experiment, and of course the momentum grew," said Shaw.

He added, "And now we're sitting outside with no corona restrictions really anymore. And we're still playing for the cows."

He explained how the cows react to the cello, "They react differently to different pieces, we played something that was slightly more upbeat and a little bit more modern and a lot of them didn't like it and they went away."

"I think that the type of pieces which is closer to their voice, closer to their mooing, would be similar actually to a cello, which is why it's so successful with them, they prefer that," said Shaw.
