Thursday, residents of al-Abtal Street in Jabal al-Marikh in Amman said that a number of snakes attacked their houses, causing panic among them.

Many of the residents said they were forced to leave their houses due to the presence of snakes.

Samir Khalil, a resident of the area, said in an interview with Roya that the residents noticed the presence of two snakes of the Palestine viper species. The residents were able to kill the snakes three days ago, however, later on a group of other snakes spread in the neighborhood.

Khalil added that they contacted the Civil Defense Directorate (CDD) immediately. The CDD were able to find four snakes and kill them, but two snakes escaped and were not found.

He explained that the CDD contacted the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) to stress the importance of taking the necessary measures to get rid of the snakes in the neighborhood immediately. However, he noted that no actions have been taken by the GAM until now.
