The Zarqa crime victim, Saleh Hamdan, who was violently attacked by a group of men who gouged his eyes out and severed off his forearms in October, told Roya he could not leave the house after the attack because of the "bad psychological state he was in."

He said that he started feeling better after meeting his coach, Issam al-Yamouni, who provided him with support and assistance needed to overcome the difficult circumstances he was going through.

With Yamouni's help, Hamdan lost weight in a quick and healthy way, in order to get his artificial limbs fitted.

Hamdan said that he hopes to study law at university to become a lawyer.
