MoH says it is too early to determine cause of individual's death following coronavirus vaccination

Sunday, the Ministry of Health (MoH)released tha statement following the death of a 66-year-old citizen after receiving the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Preliminary information indicates that the deceased received the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine on April 4, and got an appointment for the second dose on June 27 which is 12 weeks after the first dose.

According to the MoH, the death occurred approximately 10 minutes after receiving the second dose adding that the deceased suffered from chronic diseases.

The ministry said that all necessary medical treatment and first aid were provided to the citizen but the Jordan University Hospital (JUH) staff could not save his life.

The MoH stated that it is not possible to determine the cause of death or any link between death and the vaccine at this point in time.

The ministry noted that investigations are underway and all the details will be announced as soon as possible.

The MoH extended its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.
