Tuesday, the head of the Association of Medical Laboratories and Analysis, Hussein Al-Hijjawi, revealed abuses that occurred in the past period wherein some laboratories forged PCR tests, especially for those wishing to travel.

During his participation in Roya’s Donya Ya Donya program, he said the association does not have the authority like the unions to monitor the work of laboratories, so it cooperates with the Ministry of Health, and passes any information it receives to the relevant authorities.

Hijjawi said that they heard about incidents wherein several laboratories are giving out negative PCR test results for travel purposes, seeing as it is a requirement for traveling.

He said the cases are in the hands of the law.

Hijjawi referred to the incident wherein thirty forged tests were seized, and were revealed by one of the directors at the Aqaba crossing.

Those involved in the forgery were transferred to the judiciary, pointing out that he could not be certain whether or not the owners of laboratories were involved, or whether it was technicians who were responsible, or possibly individuals from outside the laboratories.
