Sunday, the Israeli Occupation government approved the appointment of a new ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Eitan Surkis, to replace Ambassador Amir Weissbrod.

Surkis previously worked as a special envoy for water in the Middle East Department and also was the Consul General in Rio de Janeiro. In addition, he served as the Deputy Ambassador in several countries, including Jordan, Brazil and Peru.

The announcement came in a tweet Friday by the Israeli Occupation Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
