China has so far administered more than one billion doses of the coronavirus vaccine, according to an announcement made by the Ministry of Health Sunday. 

It has not been specified how many people have been fully vaccinated, but this number makes up more than one third of the world's total.

Friday, the world exceeded the 2.5 billion mark in terms of the number of doses administered globally, according to a census by Agence France-Presse.
