Friday, the hashtag ‘SaveBeita’ topped the list of trending hashtags on Twitter in Jordan. This came following the violent confrontations by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) as Palestinians continue to protest the ethnic cleansing by building illegal settlements for Zionist settlers.

People took to social media to condemn the Israeli Occupation’s violence against Palestinians, while circulating videos and images showing what is happening in Beita.

A Palestinian Twitter activist Laila Thoukan called on everyone to show their support to the West Bank.

She wrote “To all Palestinians in the West Bank, this is a call to come to Beita, the occupation made the entrance of Beita a battlefield, we were four journalists in one of the closed areas and yet they shooted us, and shooted an ambulance.”

In another tweet, she pointed to brutal attacks on journalists.

“Isre*ali forces are brutally attacking reporters in Beita, they filled the village with tear gas bombs to the point where fires started and many suffocated,” wrote a Twitter user identified as Naya Ghandi.

Another Twitter user identified as Yaqeen Mukh wrote “Beita now is besieged from all sides! Raise your voices for the sake of Beita, for the sake of Palestine.”

Eman Najee, another social media user, warned of a potential massacre by the IOF.

“The IOF is preparing for a massacre today, don't leave the people of Beita alone, today will be very difficult, more than you can imagine!”

It seems not only is the IOF attacking Palestinians in Beita, but so are settlers.

A Twitter activist, Amani Alduom, uploaded a video showing settlers attacking Palestinians.

She wrote “Settlers pointing their weapons at Palestinian civilians in front of the Beita Junction.”

Friday, at least 47 Palestinians were injured during confrontations with the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) at the entrance to the town of Beita, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, announced the Palestinian Red Crescent.
The IOF fired tear gas and rubber bullets on Palestinians during the confrontations.
