Activists circulated a video clip of a 69-year-old British man raising the Palestinian flag from the highest point in the British capital, London, near the Parliament and the US embassy.
Nick Georges climbed a 200 meter construction crane Tuesday and placed the Palestinian flag on it, despite objections made by the police, who tried to negotiate with him, but he insisted on achieving his goal.
Although Georges said the crane was 300 feet (91m), the authorities said the crane measures at a height of 650 feet (200m).
Georges filmed a video explaining what happened.

That a person in London would resort to something this drastic says alot about the depth of this enduring injustice. pic.twitter.com/dE3YQc0k8Y
He said he climbed the crane to “tell the world about Palestine. For three months I was sent to Palestine as a humanitarian witness and protective presence.”
He said he witnessed a plethora of atrocities and horrors “of the illegal Israeli Occupation of the Palestinian homeland” in the three months he spent there.
He said he witnessed a family of four being burnt alive by Jewish settlers in their home.
Georges noted British complacency in Israeli Occupation violence towards Palestinians.
“I’ve seen so many demolitions by… British built machines in [the Israeli Occupation],” said Georges.
He pointed to the necessity of people doing more to promote peace and to support Palestine.
According to eyewitnesses who spoke to British media, Georges was not wearing protective gear and there was no safety net while ascending to raise the flag.
Since the outbreak of the recent aggression on the Gaza Strip last month, London has witnessed - and still witnesses - demonstrations and rallies attended by thousands in support of Palestine.
A demonstration was organized in the capital in front of the government headquarters under the slogan "Justice for Palestine" in conjunction with the convening of the G7 summit.
The demonstrators chanted slogans calling for imposing sanctions on the Israeli Occupation and recognizing the state of Palestine. They carried banners reading "Free Palestine" and "Stop arming Israel" in order to pressure the G7 to stop selling arms to the Israeli Occupation.
