Thursday, a criminology expert Khawla al-Hassan said there is no convincing reason for a father to kill his child, and become a murderer instead of an "educator and caretaker" for his son or daughter.

Hassan told Roya that the crime involving a man who beat daughter to death for low grades should not be tolerated in any way.

He added that what happened "sounds the alarm in the ears of Jordanians, society and officials."

"When the safe house becomes a place of terror and murder, we must all stand up and think of solutions," she said.
