Thursday, the Secretary-General of Epidemiological Affairs at the Ministry of Health Adel Al-Belbisi denied rumors which were circulated regarding suspending the use of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in Jordan.

Belbisi confirmed in a statement to Roya that the vaccination process with the vaccine will continue in the usual manner.

Feb. 9, the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) approved the COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccine for emergency use.

Since the beginning of the national coronavirus vaccination campaign in Jordan on Jan. 13, the Kingdom has approved six vaccines, including the Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, Johnson and Johnson, and Moderna vaccines.
