Monday, the Ministry of Health called on citizens to register on the official online platform for COVID-19 vaccination, where instructions to book an earlier date, than initially assigned, for the second dose can be found, the application for which must be submitted at the Prince Hamzah Hospital.

The ministry also stressed the importance of taking into consideration the minimum number of days required to pass between the first and second dose.

The announcement noted that requests to change the date will only be accepted for travel purposes, as well as a minimum of 21 days after the first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine and 42 days after the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Citizens and residents who wish to book an earlier appointment than the one initially assigned must provide a prepaid plane ticket, as well as a valid visa, residency or 'exit and return' stamp for travelers by land or sea.

The ministry noted that university students, who are over 17 but under 18 years of age and wish to receive the first dose of the vaccine for travel purposes, must submit an application at the Prince Hamzah Hospital, along with an official university acceptance letter and prepaid plane ticket.

Additionally, approval from His Excellency the Secretary-General for Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases Affairs at the Communicable Diseases Directorate is also required.
