The Saudi Arabian state TV reported Sunday that it will bar people from entering its malls unless they have been fully vaccinated against coronavirus, citing decisions by the Ministry of Trade that will become effective Aug. 1.

The ministry stated that individuals must have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine jab in order to enter commercial facilities.

In their swift national vaccination campaign, the Kingdom has administered 15.7 million jabs so far, equivalent to 23 percent of the population, according to the Reuters coronavirus tracker.

Sunday, 1,017 new coronavirus cases and 19 deaths were recorded in Saudi Arabia.

Notably, Saudi Arabia will limit this year’s Hajj to 60,000 nationals and residents living in the Kingdom due to the coronavirus.
