Jordan records nine deaths and 479 new coronavirus cases

Jordan recorded nine deaths and 479 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 742,178.

The death toll has risen to 9,570.

The cases are:

-227 in Amman

-80 in Irbid, including two in Ramtha

-69 in Zarqa

-17 in Mafraq

-13 in Karak

-12 in Ma'an, including five in Petra

-11 in Ajloun

-11 in Balqa

-11 in Jerash

-Eight in Tafilah

-Seven in Madaba

-Six in Aqaba

A total of 64 cases have been admitted to the hospitals, and 47 have been discharged upon recovery.

There are a total of 8,139 active COVID-19 cases.

A total of 620 recoveries have been recorded from hospitals and home quarantine, bringing the total amount of recoveries since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 724,469.

There are 478 patients receiving treatment in hospitals.

A total of 21,629 PCR tests were conducted, bringing the total to 7,493,032.

Thursday, 2.21 percent of PCR tests came back positive, in comparison to 2.92 percent on Wednesday.
