Jordan records eight deaths and 599 new coronavirus cases

Jordan recorded eight deaths and 599 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 741,101.

The death toll has risen to 9,549.

The cases are:

-252 in Amman

-141 in Zarqa

-65 in Irbid, including three in Ramtha

-28 in Mafraq

-24 in Karak

-16 in Aqaba

-16 in Jerash

-15 in Madaba 

-13 in Balqa

-10 in Ajloun

-14 in Ma'an, including eight in Petra

A total of 52 cases have been admitted to the hospitals, and 67 have been discharged upon recovery.

There are a total of 8,745 active COVID-19 cases.

A total of 842 recoveries have been recorded from hospitals and home quarantine, bringing the total amount of recoveries since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 722,807.

There are 490 patients receiving treatment in hospitals.

A total of 21,763 PCR tests were conducted, bringing the total to 7,450,944.

Tuesday, 2.75 percent of PCR tests came back positive, in comparison to 2.96 percent on Monday.
