The Aqaba Field Hospital, a hospital built specifically for COVID-19 patients, recorded zero admissions for five days since its opening at the beginning of this year.

The director of the hospital, Kamal Al-Hourani, indicated, in a statement to Roya, that the hospital has not had any COVID-19 patient admissions across all departments during the past five days.

Hourani stressed that the massive vaccination campaign that is taking place in Aqaba, and the commitment of citizens to public safety measures, health protocol and precautionary measures, contributed to reducing the rates of infections in Aqaba, which was reflected in the rate of hospital admissions.

It is reported that the hospital houses 216 beds, including 56 ICU beds and 160 standard beds.
