Monday, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health Mahmoud Zureikat spoke about the oxygen supply shortage in Karak Hospital.

In a press conference, he stressed that the oxygen issue is of high importance to the ministry in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

Zureikat added that an investigation committee has been formed to handle and investigate this case, noting that the results will be announced Monday afternoon.

The Director of Karak Hospital Moath Al-Maaytah said said all rumors about oxygen depletion are false.

He also spoke about a 12-year-old child who was brought in following a traffic accident but his family requested to transfer him to a private hospital in Amman.

He pointed out that officials will be held accountable if there is any proof of negligence and stressed that the proficiency of emergency departments in Jordan is a priority.

Zureikat indicated that the ministry supplied hospitals around the Kingdom with diesel, water and generators, and made sure all those are available after the nationwide power outage incident.
