Monday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed the need to end Palestinian political division.
His statement coincided with the visit of the Egyptian intelligence chief to Gaza.
On Monday, the head of Egyptian General Intelligence, Major General Abbas Kamel, will head to the Gaza Strip to hold meetings with Palestinian forces and factions, accompanied by ministers from the Palestinian Authority.
Sunday, Major General Kamel began a visit to the Israeli Occupation and Palestine, in which he discussed several files, the foremost of which was the establishment of a ceasefire with Gaza.
The Egyptian president also sent a high-level security delegation to Palestine to discuss the consolidation of the ceasefire and reconstruction, and to discuss ways to reach a comprehensive truce in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
The Egyptian president directed the delegation to advance efforts to end the Palestinian division, stressing the importance of taking all necessary measures to ensure that escalation between Tel Aviv and Palestine does not recur.
