Monday, the French Secretary of State for European Affairs Clement Bonn said that US agencies spying on European officials with the help of Denmark would be a "very dangerous" matter if proven, after such actions were revealed by European media.

Bonn said on "France Info" television and radio that the matter is "very dangerous. It must be checked whether our European Union partners, the Danish, made mistakes in their cooperation with the American agencies.”

“Then from the American side, it should be seen whether...there has been a wiretapping or spying on political officials.”

He did not rule out the idea that the matter would entail "consequences in terms of cooperation" with the United States.
