The first Holocaust memorial exhibition, described as the first of its kind in the Middle East, opened at the Crossroads of Civilizations Museum in Dubai.

The exhibition includes a series of events that led to the Holocaust and employs personal stories of Jews in the Arab world, in addition to the heroic stories of Muslims who defended and saved the Jews.

The exhibition includes historical sections showcasing rare items such as the facsimile of a Mahzor, a Jewish prayer book, from the city of Worms, Germany.

Eitan Naeh, who was appointed as an envoy of the Israeli Occupation in the United Arab Emirates after the two countries concluded a peace agreement last year, said it was "remarkable" that the exhibition was being held in the Arab world.

"Who would have dreamed 70 or 80 years ago that the Tel Aviv ambassador and the German ambassador would sit together here in an Arab country to visit an exhibition commemorating the Holocaust?" asked Naeh.

The repercussions of the war on Gaza

The Israeli Occupation envoy also touched on the danger of an increase in anti-Jewish attacks that erupted following the war on Gaza.

During May, the Israeli Occupation began forcibly removing Palestinian families from their homes in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and assaulting peaceful worshippers in the Aqsa Mosque, using rubber bullets, skunk water, tear gas and stun grenades which left around 900 injured.

In response to the violence, Gaza's Palestinian resistance groups retaliated through airstrikes which was followed by the Israeli Occupation ruthlessly pounding the enclave with artillery and rockets.

The violence martyred around 248 Palestinians, including 66 children, 39 women, and 17 elderly people.

In addition, a total of 1,948 Palestinians were injured, with wounds ranging in severity.
