Monday, the former director general of the National Electric Power Company Ahmad Hiyasat told Roya that any citizen who was affected by the power outage could sue the government.

He added that the theory that the current director of the National Electric Power Company Amjad al-Rawashdeh spoke about saying that the fluctuation in the electric current might have been caused by a large bird, is not valid.

He explained that fluctuations occur in any electrical current but generators can accommodate those fluctuations, adding that fluctuations should not lead to interruptions.

Regarding the ongoing investigations aiming to identify the reasons behind the power outage, Hiyasat said that the report which, will be issued by an international company, will be clear. In the meantime, he called on energy experts not to make any speculations regarding the causes of power outage.
