Saturday, energy experts said the government’s narrative regarding the power cuts in Jordan "did not come close to the truth."

Energy expert Hashem Aqel told Roya that the government’s accounts related to the incident Friday are far from the truth. Another expert Amer al-Shobaki said the nationwide blackout shows the level of decline that the energy portfolio in the Kingdom has reached.

An expert in energy and electricity networks Mohammad al-Zoubi said the first total blackout in Jordan took place back in 2004. He stressed that all electrical interconnection networks witness load fluctuations but that should not lead to a blackout.

He pointed out that the government should uncover details about what happened, adding that the explanation provided by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Hala Zawati was not a proper electrical engineering explanation.
