The spokesperson for the Ministry of Water and Irrigation Omar Salameh said the ministry resumed pumping water to many regions across the country Saturday morning.

Salameh told Roya that the process of re-pumping water usually takes six to 12 hours, due to the blackout that happened Friday, because water needs to fill the main lines and stations which takes time.

Salameh stressed that work is underway to deliver water to the areas that need it. Regarding the areas that were supposed to receive water Friday, Salameh said water will be pumped next Friday.

The local water authorities and companies issued apologies following the emergency defect, saying they hope that the relevant technical staff will be able to restore conditions as quickly as possible.

The ministry called on citizens to be understanding of the current circumstances and be patient.
