Jordan records 16 deaths and 809 new coronavirus cases

Jordan recorded 16 deaths and 809 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 724,154.

The death toll has risen to 9,259.

The cases are:

-276 in Amman

-163 in Irbid, including nine in Ramtha 

-75 in Zarqa

-64 in Ma'an, including 14 in Petra

-42 in Ajloun

-41 in Balqa

-36 in Mafraq

-30 in Karak

-23 in Aqaba

-22 in Jerash

-21 in Tafilah

-16 in Madaba

A total of 77 cases have been admitted to the hospitals, and 74 have been discharged upon recovery.

There are a total of 11,253 active COVID-19 cases.

A total of 1,272 recoveries have been recorded from hospitals and home quarantine, bringing the total amount of recoveries since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 703,642.

There are 714 patients receiving treatment in hospitals.

A total of 19,177 PCR tests were conducted, bringing the total to 6,940,992.

Sunday, 4.22 percent of PCR tests came back positive, in comparison to 3.12 percent on Saturday.
