Thousands of people demonstrated in Montreal and other Canadian cities Saturday, to express their solidarity with the Palestinians and demand the liberation of Palestine and an end to the war crimes committed by the Israeli Occupation in the Gaza Strip.

An Agence France-Presse (AFP) correspondent reported that the demonstrators in Montreal gathered in the thousands in a square in the city center, holding up signs that read "Jerusalem to the Palestinians" and chanting slogans including "Free Palestine."

Additionally, protesters gathered in front of the Consulate General of the Hebrew State in western Montreal to condemn the raids launched on the Gaza Strip.

The demonstrators carried banners in front of the consulate, accusing the Israeli Occupation of violating international laws and calling on it to "stop killing children", before leaving the scene to join the demonstration that took place in central Montreal.

A police spokesman said that the demonstration in front of the Israeli Occupation consulate took place peacefully, except for one incident in which a glass was broken and the person who did so was arrested by the police.

The demonstrators headed to the consulate building in a convoy of cars, waving Palestinian flags and honking their car horns.

A similar demonstration took place Saturday in the federal capital, Ottawa, in which the demonstrators in particular called on the international community to intervene on behalf of the Palestinians.
