The Israeli Occupation electricity company announced Sunday that the high-voltage lines supplying the Gaza Strip with electricity were allegedly damaged by the airstrikes fired from the Strip.

They said that five of the 10 lines had been damaged, and that the company could not repair them due to lack of access to the area.

The only other source of electricity in Gaza, besides the energy provided by the Israeli Occupation, is the local power plant that is partially operational due to fuel shortages.

However, both sources are insufficient to cover the needs of Gaza's residents.

Power cuts of at least eight hours are a daily norm in the Strip, and with the power plant not operating at regular capacity, the power outages have increased to now range between 12 to 15 hours a day.

With the latest damage to power lines, more outages are expected.

The added damages in one of the world's most densely populated areas, came amid days of the Israeli Occupations escalation of violent military aggression on Gaza, wherein ruthless shelling is witnessed throughout the night.
