Friday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi discussed contacts with his counterparts in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Oman, to stop the dangerous escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories and the Gaza Strip.

Safadi wrote on Twitter Friday that he and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry continued to discuss ways to provide protection for the brotherly Palestinian people.

He added that he also discussed with his Egyptian counterpart an end to the dangerous escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories by stopping the Israeli Occupation aggression on Gaza and stopping the violations and attacks in Occupied Jerusalem and the rest of the occupied territories.

"The occupation authorities bear responsibility for the escalation," according to Safadi.

In a second tweet, he said that he and the Saudi Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan, discussed efforts aimed at stopping the Israeli Occupation aggression on Gaza and the attacks in Occupied Jerusalem and the rest of the Palestinian territories as the only way to stop the current escalation.

He added, "The occupation is the basis of the conflict, and launching an effective political movement to end it is a priority that we work on with our brothers and partners."

Safadi wrote in another tweet, “I held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Badr Al-Busaidi, about the dangerous conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories and the efforts made to stop the Israeli aggression in Gaza and the violations in Jerusalem and the rest of the Palestinian territories."
