Friday, the Director of the World Health Organization called on countries not to vaccinate children against Covid-19 and instead to donate surplus vaccine supplies to the COVAX initiative for them to be redistributed to countries in need.

Director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a press conference that according to the path that things are taking, the second year of the epidemic will be "much more deadly" than the first year.

Last week, the Pfizer vaccine was approved for children ages 12-15 in the United States.
