Former US President Donald Trump accused his successor, Joe Biden, of 'weakness' and of not supporting the Israeli Occupation against the backdrop of the worst escalation of violence in years between Hamas and the Hebrew state.

"In the Biden era, the world has become more violent and more unstable, because Biden's weakness and lack of support for Israel lead to more attacks on our allies," the former Republican president said in a statement.

"When I was president, we were known for the presidency of peace, because the enemies of Israel were aware that the United States firmly supported Israel and that retaliatory responses would be swift if Israel were attacked."

The 45th president of the United States added, "The United States should always support Israel and make clear that the Palestinians must stop violence, terror and missile attacks, and make clear that the United States will always and firmly support Israel's right to defend itself."

Trump broke a decades-old international consensus by recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of the Israeli Occupation in December 2017. He also recognized Israeli Occupation sovereignty over the Golan Heights.

After he assumed the presidency on January 20, Joe Biden waited a month before contacting Israeli Occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which was highlighted in the Israeli Occupation press.

The new democratic administration confirmed that it would keep the headquarters of the US embassy in Occupied Jerusalem, which the United States would continue to regard as the capital of the Hebrew state, despite international protests.

Tuesday, Hamas and the Israeli Occupation exchanged rocketfire following weeks of Israeli Occupation violence against Palestinians that left hundreds injured. The airstrikes left dozens dead in Gaza and hundreds more seriously wounded.

The uptick in violence was caused by the ongoing illegal evictions of Palestinians in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Occupied Jerusalem in favor of Israeli Occupation settlers.

The Israeli prime minister has pledged to intensify attacks against Hamas.
