A volcano in Iceland has been erupting for more than 50 days drawing tourists from around the world. The huge geysers of lava can be seen from the country's capital Reykjavik approximately 40 kilometers away.

The eruption, which will soon be officially named 'Fagradalshraun, began erupting March 19.

German tourist Benjamin Berglez said, "Actually, it’s pretty hard to describe because in pictures or in movies, you can’t really feel the warmth of the volcano."

Another visitor Henrike Wappler said, “I feel small so near to this power but I’m not scared.”

Notably, it has been more than eight centuries since lava flowed in this area and approximately 6,000 years since there was an eruption.
