About 10,000 teachers in Amman and Ramtha received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, in the first week of the national campaign to vaccinate teachers.

This campaign was launched by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the National Center for Security Crisis Management, in preparation for a safe return to schools for the next academic year.

The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Najwa Qubeilat, said that the campaign will continue after Eid al-Fitr in Amman.

The campaign to vaccinate teachers will extend to the rest of the Kingdom's governorates next Monday, according to programs that the education directorates will announce on their social media pages, said Qubeilat.

She indicated that vaccinations for teachers in the education directorates of the north and central regions of the Kingdom will take place according to the accredited school networks mechanism, while in southern governorates, vaccinations will take place in vaccination centers approved by the Ministry of Health.

In regards to teachers of the private sector, Qubeilat explained that the centers for private teacher vaccinations will be announced through the education directorates in the governorates.

She added that there will be one center for private sector teachers per governorate, and two centers in Amman and Irbid, according to schedules and mechanisms that will be announced at a later time.
