The media spokesman for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said Monday that an individual was arrested shortly after robbing a bank.

The individual, who had prior charges against him, entered a bank in the Marka area, Amman, and threatened employees with a sharp object.

He took JD 5,000 from the bank and fled.

The media spokesman confirmed that a traffic controller who was in the area, in cooperation with a number of citizens, were able to catch up with the perpetrator as he was fleeing.

The spokesman confirmed he was arrested and the money was repossessed.
