Palestine confirms 12 deaths and 559 new COVID-19 cases

Palestine recorded 12 deaths and 559 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Friday.

The new deaths involved five in the West Bank (two in Nablus, one in Tubas, and two in Hebron), and seven in the Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 94.6 percent, while the active case rate is 4.3 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 52 in Nablus; 35 in Jenin; six in Qalqilya; 12 in Tulkarm; 22 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; four in Tubas; 22 in Hebron; two in Bethehem, and 404 in the Gaza Strip.

The recovery cases included 270 in Nablus; 47 in Jenin; 15 in Qalqilya; 29 in Tulkarm; 39 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 18 in Tubas; 20 in Hebron; 12 in Bethlehem; 20 in Salfit; two in the suburbs of Jerusalem; one in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 1,511 in the Gaza Strip, and 164 in Jerusalem city.

A total of 3,325 PCR tests have been conducted.

Currently, 102 people are in ICUs and 29 are on ventilators.

A total of 266,380 individuals received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, including 193,720 who received both doses.
