Tuesday, a total of 3,318 teachers received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine on the first day of the national campaign to vaccinate workers in the education sector.

The campaign is implemented by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Crisis Management Cell. The aim is to prepare for a safe return to schools at the beginning of the upcoming academic year 2021/2022.

The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs Najwa Qubeilat said the campaign aims to vaccinate all teachers in the public and private sector who registered for vaccination on the official online COVID-19 vaccination platform.

Qubeilat said the vaccination sites designated for the campaign in Amman witnessed a great turnout of teachers that came to get vaccinated.

She stressed that the campaign is ongoing and aims to protect educational staff and students as they return to face-to-face education in September.
