Monday, official figures showed that the UK has recorded just one coronavirus death in the past 24 hours along with 1,649 new COVID-19 cases.

In comparison, the UK recorded 14 deaths and 1,671 coronavirus infections Sunday.

According to The Daily Mail, COVID-19 figures tend to be lower due to a "lag in data reporting on weekends."

Monday's deaths are the lowest recorded in the Kingdom since August 30.

The only time the death toll was lower however, was on July 30, when no deaths were recorded at the beginning of the pandemic.

These figures come as the UK's vaccination campaign continues speeding up, with more than 34 million first doses and 15.3 million second doses administered.

The UK is slowly inching towards lifting lockdown and restrictions completely, with one in four citizens and residents fully protected against the virus.
