Abbas extends state of emergency as Palestine records 565 new cases, 11 deaths

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas issued a presidential decree declaring the continuance of a state of emergency in the Palestinian territories, starting Monday for a period of 30 days.

Earlier Monday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced 565 new coronavirus cases and 11 deaths. 

It indicated that the new cases were recorded as follows: 25 in Tulkarm, 81 in Nablus, 38 in Jenin, six in Tubas, seven in Qalqilya, two in the suburbs of Occupied Jerusalem, 19 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh, three in Salfit, nine in Hebron, three in Bethlehem, one in Jericho and Al-Aghwar, and 371 in the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry said that there are 133 patients in intensive care rooms, including 39 patients on artificial respirators. 338 patients are being treated in designated coronavirus centers and departments in hospitals in the West Bank.
